FAQ
Can you just give me the name of a Soldier so I can send my own package?
No, we don't provide that service. There are websites on the internet that will help with that.
If I adopt a Soldier, am I obligated to send packages throughout the deployment?
No, you are not obligated in any way. Some supporters will send to different Soldiers or Units on a regular basis, while some supporters wish to send a single package.
How do the packages ship?
Packages for our deployed Soldiers are only shipped through the USPS. Domestic packages will be shipped by either USPS or UPS.
We do not ship restricted items such as aerosols, pornographic material, alcohol, etc.
Can I include a letter, message and/or photos?
We are happy to include your personal messages and photos. Please add your message to the message box on the check out page. You may also send photos in jpeg format to info@treatmysoldier.com. You may also send scanned drawings in the same manner. Please add your Soldier’s name and address to all email correspondence..
How long does a package take to arrive overseas?
Packages to deployed Troops typically take 14 to 21 days for delivery. There are delays that may be unavoidable. Threat of attacks may delay delivery up to an additional week. Because of the nature of the Military Postal Service, we are not able to provide a confirmation of delivery.
How is it packaged?
Unlike typical gift baskets, fancy boxes, bows and packing material are not desirable. Base camps do not have the resources for disposal of non-biodegradable packing peanuts. TreatMySoldier uses recycled, biodegradable material. Each box is lined with a clear plastic bag (re-usable!) and then carefully packed for maximum efficiency and quality. Within the box, many small or hygienic items are first placed in zip-loc bags, a soldier favorite. The Trooper can then re-use the bags for many other applications.
Can I request special items for my Soldier that are not listed?
Absolutely! We get many unusual requests, from laundry soap/dryer sheets, moon-pies and Monopoly. We are committed to making our Troopers as happy as possible, so please don't hesitate to call or email your specific requests.
